We meet on the second Tuesday of every month at Davie Masonic Hall; Plymouth, Devon.
Whether you are already a member of our Fraternity, either in this Province, elsewhere in England or from overseas, or are just dropping in out of interest, we trust that you find the following pages of interest and provide some areas of satisfaction.
Our Charity activities now extend far beyond the welfare of our own family circle. These days we make considerable contributions every year from our own resources to cancer and other medical research, cathedral re-building funds, the RNLI and an extensive list of other charities particularly to hospices and many children's charities. This is in addition to maintaining our own Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution (RMBI), the Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys (MTG&B), the New Masonic Samaritan Fund and the Grand Charity of the United Grand Lodge of England.
Many people have strange understandings of Freemasonry, and indeed Freemasons; I hope that this site will help to inform you and perhaps dispel some of those misunderstandings, and allow you to see the role that Freemasonry has in society in general and our local community here in Devon in particular.
The lodge was Consecrated on 8th February 1921 at Davie Masonic Hall, North Hill, Plymouth, by the Provincial Grand Master and Officers of Provincial Grand Lodge. The first Master was Bro. S. J. Page. No reasons are given in the Minute Book for the choice of name, but it is assumed that it was because there were a number of Royal Navy and Dockyard personnel who were members of the lodge. Further lodge meetings were then held at the Huyshe Masonic Hall, Home Park, Stoke, Devonport, but as from May 1925 the lodge moved to Davie Masonic Hall, North Road, Plymouth until February 1981 when it moved to Queen Victoria Masonic Hall, 76, Victoria Road, St.Budeaux, Plymouth. The lodge finally moved back to Davie Masonic Hall in September 1986 where it remains today.
